Bill Halter: I want you to be in the loop right away

Image
Robert -- I'm sharing some exciting news next week about the campaign and our big ideas for Arkansas, and I want you to be the first to know. Follow me on Facebook to make sure you hear the news straight away. Our team is working hard on the issues that Arkansans care about, but without a strong network of folks like you behind us to help spread the word, we'll only get so far. You all -- our grassroots supporters -- are going to determine the outcome of this race. So, as often as possible, I want you to be in the loop right away when there's news or an important announcement about the campaign, and one of the best ways to do that is also one of the simplest. Stay in touch here: https://secure.billhalter.com/Like-Bill-on-Facebook Thanks, stay tuned, Bill P.S. -- Not on Facebook? Let me know you're with me by  adding your name here.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz: Hillary's Last Day

Image
Robert -- Today is  Hillary Clinton 's last day as  Secretary of State . She did an outstanding job representing our country for the past four years -- and I wanted to thank her for her service. We'll deliver your message to her: http://my.democrats.org/Thank-Hillary Thanks, Debbie Debbie Wasserman Schultz Chair Democratic National Committee

Kirsten Gillibrand: tremendous gains for women in Congress

Image
Robert, The 2012 election brought tremendous gains for  women in Congress , with a total of 97 women serving in both chambers. But those achievements are anything but permanent. In 2014, three female Democratic senators will be up for re-election. In the House, 13 newly elected Democratic women will once again face serious challengers. We have to be ready to support them. Give to my Off the Sidelines PAC so we can defend Democratic women from right-wing attacks and ensure they remain in Congress where they belong. We need to raise $30,000 before midnight tonight to make this year's first end-of-the-month goal. Please, don’t wait. Click here to donate $5 to Off the Sidelines before the deadline in just 13 hours. This is the first monthly goal of 2013, so it’s critical we reach it. Building up our resources now for the next mid-term election is absolutely essential. It’s the only way to hold our majority in the Senate and make gains in the House. And it’s the only way

Emily's List: Hillary Clinton's best moments as secretary of state.

robert, Strength. Dignity. Determination. And some great dance moves. That's just some of what we saw out of  Hillary Clinton  in her service as  secretary of state . From being the first secretary of state to visit Burma since 1955 to standing tough in the face of congressional hearings to advancing the cause of girls and women around the globe,  Hillary Clinton showed us time and again what women in leadership can do. Click here to read Hillary Clinton's best moments as secretary of state. We're so grateful for Hillary's service to our country and for being a beacon of hope to women around the world and we know you are too. Thanks so much for always being there for the women fighting to keep moving our country -- and the world -- forward. EMILY's List P.S. If you haven't added your name to our thank you card for Hillary's service to our country,  give Hillary your message of thanks and sign right now.

Kirsten Gillibrand: It shouldn’t take the senseless killing of innocent children to get strong gun laws in place

Robert, Our efforts to prevent gun violence just got a big boost. Today, Republican Senator Mark Kirk and I introduced a bill to fight gun trafficking. This is the first bipartisan action since the tragic shooting in Newtown. It would define gun trafficking as a federal crime, impose stiff penalties on perpetrators and help stop the flow of illegal weapons onto our streets. We need to pass it. Gaining Senator Kirk’s support is an enormous help, but it does not guarantee success. As you know, any proposed gun law is going to meet stiff resistance in Congress. That’s why I need you to speak out now in support of this bill. The only way to press forward is by accepting nothing less. Sign my petition today, and tell members of Congress to pass The Gun Trafficking Prevention Act. Let lawmakers know that you demand action to stop rampant gun violence. It shouldn’t take the senseless killing of innocent children and teachers to get strong gun laws in place. Now that we’re here,

Jim Messina: Organizing for Action's First Mission: Saving America's Children From Gun Violence. All Races

Robert -- Today in Nevada,  President Obama  laid out his plan for  comprehensive immigration reform , and right now, he needs to know who's ready to help get this done. Add your name in support of the President's plan for immigration reform today. Ask pretty much anyone, and they'll agree: Our nation's immigration system is broken. But working together, we can fix it so everyone plays by the same rules. To that end, the President has proposed the following steps: - Continue to strengthen and secure our borders; - Crack down on companies that hire undocumented workers; - Establish a legal path to earned citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants who are already here -- including children who were brought here through no fault of their own; - And streamline legal immigration for those who are already playing by the rules. Solving this problem is not only essential to a strong economy and a thriving middle class, it's also the right thing to do. The time

Hillary Clinton: KENTUCKY WIN

Dear Robert,   I owe our 35-point win in Kentucky yesterday to your incredible support. So let me ask you -- do you think we should let the TV talking heads have the final say in this race? Or should we do what we have always done, and fight together for what you and I believe in? I have never for one moment forgotten what this race is about -- the millions of people who are looking to you and me for the leadership America needs. It's about getting our economy moving again. It's about bringing the war in Iraq to a responsible end. It's about fulfilling America's energy needs while protecting the planet for our children and grandchildren. It's about making sure that every man, woman, and child in America has health care. Now we have just three races left, and your help is absolutely critical in these final two weeks. So let's do it. Let's keep fighting and winning together, as we have all along. Contribute today and let's keep driving towar

HILLARY CLINTON; INDIANA WIN

Dear Robert,   Tonight's victory in Indiana was close, and a margin that narrow means just one thing: every single thing you did to help us win in Indiana helped make the difference.  Every call you made, every friend you spoke to about our campaign, every dollar you contributed made tonight's victory possible. And I couldn't be more thankful for your hard work.  Every time we've celebrated a victory, we've celebrated it together. And tonight is no exception. This victory is your victory, this campaign is your campaign, and your support has been the difference between winning and losing.  Thank you so much for making this campaign possible. Let's keep making history together.  Sincerely,  Hillary Rodham Clinton

HILLARY CLINTON: PENNSYLVANIA

Dear Robert,   Thanks to you, we won a critically important victory tonight in Pennsylvania. It's a giant step forward that will transform the landscape of the presidential race. And it couldn't have happened without you.  There will be much more to do beginning tomorrow. But tonight, let's just celebrate the fact that you and I are part of a remarkable community of people tough enough, passionate enough, and determined enough to win big when everything is on the line.  Thanks so much for all you do.  Sincerely,  Hillary Rodham Clinton

HILLARY CLINTON: TONIGHT

Dear Robert,   Over the course of this campaign, I have seen the promise of America in your courage and character, your energy and ingenuity, and your compassion and faith.  Your spirit has inspired me every day in this race. While I traveled this country talking about how I wanted to help you -- time and again, you reached out to help me. To grab my hand or grip my arm, to look me in my eyes and tell me, don't quit, keep fighting, stay in this race for us. There were days when I had strength enough for the both of us -- and on the days I didn't, I leaned on you.  This has always been your campaign, and tonight, there's no one I want to hear from more than you. I hope you're as proud as I am of what we've done and that you'll take a moment to share your thoughts with me now at my website.  I want to congratulate Senator Obama and his supporters on the extraordinary race that they have run. Senator Obama has inspired so many Americans to care about politi

Hillary Clinton in Puerto Rico

Dear Robert,   Another big win! Today in Puerto Rico, the voters spoke with a powerful voice to say that this race is not over yet. And thanks to your support, we're celebrating another great victory.  When all the votes in Puerto Rico are counted, our popular vote lead will be even bigger. More than 17 million people have cast their ballots for our campaign, more votes than any candidate has received in the history of the Democratic Party. Now there can be no doubt: the people have spoken and you have chosen your candidate. We are winning the popular vote.  Every time the pundits count us out -- every time they declare the race over -- you, the voters, send a clear message that you have another idea. And you and I just keep winning races together.  Now there are just two contests left, the final primaries in South Dakota and Montana. I know I can rely on your support for these last two races, just as I have throughout the campaign.  Thank you so much for everything,  Hilla

HILLARY CLINTON; THE PATTERN

Dear robert,   Have you noticed the pattern?  Every time our campaign demonstrates its strength and resilience, people start to suggest we should end our pursuit of the Democratic nomination.  Those anxious to force us to the sidelines aren't doing it because they think we're going to lose the upcoming primaries. The fact is, they're reading the same polls we are, and they know we are in a position to win.  In three days, we're facing a critical March filing deadline -- another chance to show the strength of our campaign. Let's take these three days to make something absolutely clear: we aren't going to simply step aside. You and I are going to keep fighting for what we believe in, and together, we're going to win.  Contribute today to help us raise $3 million by the March filing deadline at midnight Monday.  Every time we are challenged to prove the strength and durability of our appeal to voters, we meet our goals. We did it in New Hampshire, we di

Hi! My name is Caroline Pla, and I love football. -- I need your help - the Archdiocese, saying girls aren't allowed.

National Black Independent Party- Hi! My name is Caroline Pla, I'm 11 years old, and I really love football. When I was 3, I watched my big brother play  Pop Warner football , and I told his coach I would play someday, too. I kept my word. I started playing when I was 5, and now I play in a Catholic Youth league --  but the Philadelphia Archdiocese, which runs my league, is suddenly saying that girls aren't allowed. The idea that girls can't play football is stupid. I've been playing for seven years, and I've never been injured. The guys don't go easy on me, either -- I've worked hard to show them that I'm just as good as they are, and I deserve to be treated the same as them. I thought it was really unfair that they won't let me play next year, so my mom started a petition on Change.org asking the Philadelphia Archdiocese to let girls play football. Will you click here and sign it? When I first heard that girls aren't allowed anymore,

Kirsten Gillibrand: stand with the capable women of our armed forces who are ready to serve

Robert, Secretary Panetta’s announcement that he is lifting a ban on women in combat was a long overdue step forward for women. But already Republican Senator Jim Inhofe has threatened to introduce legislation to block it, saying that it could be “detrimental to our fighting forces and their capabilities.” This is an insult to women everywhere. In Iraq and Afghanistan, 152 women have died and more than 800 have been wounded. They are already making the ultimate sacrifice. Just like it was wrong to discriminate against servicemembers because of whom they love, it is wrong to deny credit for combat roles to qualified women solely because of their gender. Allowing women to officially serve in combat roles opens up opportunity for women to fullfill their potential and rightfully take senior leadership roles within the Armed Services. Today there is only one female four star general. Secretary Panetta's policy change will be an historic moment to change that inequity. We

Emily's List: Let's give Hillary the roaring ovation she deserves

robert, Hillary Clinton 's service to our country has been nothing short of extraordinary. She's dedicated herself to shattering glass ceilings for women and girls around the world. Her tenacity, courage, and strength helped her make history again and again -- and have inspired a whole new generation of women leaders. Join us in celebrating Hillary's tireless service and remarkable leadership -- and let her know that you can't wait to see what's next. Sign your name to the EMILY's List thank you card for Hillary Clinton and let her know how she's inspired you. I'm so grateful every day for this community that does so much for women in leadership. Joe Biden: Whether the action we take saves one life or 1,000, it matters.

Robert -- The President did something big last week. He proposed a set of major reforms to help protect our children and our communities by curbing gun violence, and he's already announced 23 executive actions that will go a long way in helping keep our kids safe. This is an important start -- but I have no illusions about what needs to be done and how difficult it will be. Every step we intend to take will preserve the tradition of responsible gun ownership in our country and uphold the Second Amendment. And while we'll never end gun violence entirely, if we can save the life of even one child, then we have a responsibility to act. This action includes not only what we can do, but what Congress can do. To make a real and lasting difference, they must act soon.  The President has called on Congress to act on four specific legislative measures: closing background check loopholes, banning military-style assault weapons and limiting high-capacity ammunition magazines, making our

Sherrod Brown: stand alongside Jeff in the Senate

Image
Dear Robert L., You and I know better than anyone what happens when the special interests get mad. In the last election, they spent $40 million trying to defeat me. But you and I also know that standing up to them is still the right thing to do. And that’s why I’m writing to you today on behalf of my friend Jeff Merkley. Jeff is a dedicated progressive who’s taken on the toughest fights on behalf of the middle class. And just as my own progressive values put me at the top of the special interests’ target list in 2012, Jeff is sure to be hit with a ton of attacks as he fights for re-election in 2014. I’m hoping you’ll stand with Jeff the way you’ve stood with me. His campaign is trying to raise $10,000 by January 31st to build his grassroots foundation. Can you contribute $5 or more to help? Jeff and I serve together on the Senate Banking Committee. I've seen his work first-hand. When Jeff takes on China's unfair trade practices and stands up to secure American jobs, when he fi

Emily's List: Enough is enough. Our pro-choice Democratic women are leading the fight

Breaking news: Violence Against Women Act reintroduced in House and Senate robert, If Republicans want to prove they care about women, they're off to a pretty bad start in 2013. House Republicans let the Violence Against Women Act expire last December -- for the first time in nearly 25 years.   The GOP's callous abandonment of the more than 1.3 million women abused by a partner each year is absolutely outrageous.  But our pro-choice Democratic women -- like Jeanne Shaheen, Kay Hagan, and Barbara Mikulski in the Senate, and Louise Slaughter, Nancy Pelosi, and Gwen Moore in the House -- are on the case, speaking out bravely and introducing new legislation to get the landmark law back on the books.   Join us in sending our women leaders a message that the EMILY's List community is behind them all the way.  Sign our petition and tell the amazing women fighting to pass VAWA that you're standing with them. The Republicans have made their 2013 priorities pretty clear: b

robert, Tammy Baldwin, Elizabeth Warren,  and  Mazie Hirono. Maggie Hassan,  and a total of more than 28 of our fearless pro-choice Democratic senators and congresswomen. Almost 1,400 amazing EMILY's List members.  True Strength In Numbers. We all gathered yesterday to revel in our amazing 2012 victories -- and pledged to continue to fight together in pursuit of our progressive ideals. And we did it all on the weekend that we inaugurate President Obama for another four years of fighting for our progress.   And every single one of those amazing women would tell you the same thing: that  this inspiring day wouldn't have been possible without you.   We didn't want you to miss a single moment -- click here to see photos, watch our special Strength In Numbers video, and read our wrap-up from yesterday's sellout event! Take care, and here's to more and more amazing weekends like this one.    Stephanie

Kirsten Gillibrand: Sign Pres Obama's Congratulations E-card

Image
Robert L., Tomorrow morning on the steps of the U.S. Capitol,  Barack Obama  will be sworn in for his second term as President of the United States. I’m excited to be there to witness this historic event, which is always such a powerful reminder of the great democracy we live in. Please join me in congratulating President Obama on this special day, and let him know that you will stand with him over the next four years. Click here to sign my congratulatory card, and wish the president the best as he takes the oath of office. There is so much to be done during his second term.
