I started VoteVets shortly after returning from Iraq because my experience made it clear to me that we needed leaders in Washington, D.C. who understood not just the cost of war, but that it continues long after the final service member returns home.
This is, arguably, the most important election in a generation for veterans, military family members, and those who care about them.
Not only would Donald Trump's election usher in a new era of conflict, potentially nuclear, but we also have a chance to elect Tammy Duckworth and Jason Kander who will bring a personal understanding of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and their aftermath, into the Senate.
VoteVets is at the front of all of these fights. We are organized, and our ads are powerful. But we need to reach our fundraising goals by the week's end to see our work through. So I am asking:
We have spent a lot of money this election. Money well spent, because we've made a real difference. But the vast majority of our contributions come from people giving small donations. It's important that we see our work through Election Day, and that's why your contribution matters so much.
All my best,
