HILLARY CLINTON; INDIANA WIN

Dear Robert,

Tonight's victory in Indiana was close, and a margin that narrow means just one thing: every single thing you did to help us win in Indiana helped make the difference.

Every call you made, every friend you spoke to about our campaign, every dollar you contributed made tonight's victory possible. And I couldn't be more thankful for your hard work.

Every time we've celebrated a victory, we've celebrated it together. And tonight is no exception. This victory is your victory, this campaign is your campaign, and your support has been the difference between winning and losing.

Thank you so much for making this campaign possible. Let's keep making history together.

Sincerely,

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Jason: our absurdly weak gun laws

Image
Friend, With the nation’s 2018 midterm elections coming up, meet the candidates that Pride Fund is working around the clock to elect. These leaders stand for the core principles of Pride Fund—advancing commonsense gun reform and championing LGBTQ equality.  Take a moment to get to know them and sign our thank you letter to show that you’ve got their back!            Tim Kaine: United States Senate (VA)   Senator Tim Kaine served as the Governor of Virginia when the Virginia Tech shooting took place, making him uniquely familiar with the human cost of gun violence and the need for commonsense gun reform. In the aftermath of the shooting, Kaine worked tirelessly to close the loopholes that allowed the Virginia Tech shooter to purchase his weapon, and has fought to strengthen background checks to keep guns out of the hands of convicted felons.         Tammy Baldwin: United States Senate (WI)   ...

Robynne: demanding that Congress pass the Three-State Strategy Bill

Image
I helped found a women's rights club at my middle school, and now my classmates and I are standing up for equality. Sign our petition asking Congress to pass a bill that will help ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. Sign Robynne’s petition   National Black – My parents have always taught me that I can be whatever I want when I grow up, but recently I learned something shocking in a class at my middle school: according to our Constitution, women do not have equal rights to men under the law. When my friends and I learned this in our “Girls in Government, Leadership, and Service" club, we were heartbroken. We had no idea that after all this time, the laws in our country still don’t give us the same protection as our brothers and male peers. When we grow up, we want to have the same opportunities as men, get paid the same for the work we do, and be treated equally in society. Luckily, there is a proposed amendment to our Constitution...

IJ scores a restraining order against an $85 million government cash grab

IJ won an early and important victory for property owners this week when a California federal judge issued a difficult to obtain temporary restraining order preventing the government’s   shameless theft   of our clients’ life savings.   Please   join IJ with a donation today   and help us challenge—and end—even more outrageous abuses of government power. The government’s cash grab started in March. The FBI raided the Beverly Hills company U.S. Private Vaults, where property owners from across southern California store their cash, jewelry, and other valuables in safe deposit boxes. Although the FBI suspected the company of wrongdoing, it had no reason to suspect any individual box holder of wrongdoing. Nevertheless, agents broke into every box and seized their contents. Then, after a delay of several months, the government moved to take over $85 million in cash (and millions more in precious metals, jewelry, and other property) using civil forfeiture. Prac...

Tom: cut down on pollution and create jobs

Image
I’ll tell you why I am. My name is Tom Conway, Jr. and I’m working to build connections between the labor and environmental movements because it is the best way to create real, sustainable change in America. It all comes down to priorities, and our country’s first priority should be providing the opportunity for everyone to make a good living in a community in which their family can be safe and healthy. I’m one of several Regional Program Managers for the BlueGreen Alliance working in states around the country to find common-sense solutions for America’s environmental problems that will also create economic opportunity for all Americans. Will you pledge to support my work and the work of the BlueGreen Alliance Foundation on Giving Tuesday, December 2? My co-workers and I focus on getting things done that will cut down on pollution and create jobs—like reducing methane leaks in natural gas distribution systems; calling for programs that make our homes and workplaces more ...

let’s solve the child care crisis

Image
Robert, This month, Senator Rosen hosted a roundtable discussion with Nevada child and family advocates to discuss solving the child care crisis to give families and our economy a boost. Here’s the simple truth: if families and small businesses are going to recover from the economic crisis caused by this pandemic, we have to make investing in child care a priority. And that’s why Senator Rosen is working hard in Washington to pass critical support for working parents here in Nevada and all across the country. If you’re with Jacky, sign on now to support affordable child care for working families. Senator Rosen’s bipartisan legislation, introduced in the House by Congresswoman Susie Lee, would provide key support for non-profit child care facilities so they can provide affordable child care. We need urgent action on this issue so families and businesses can come back even stronger. Jacky will keep doing everything she can to ensure more working families have access to the hig...

Imagine – Labor Day in the United States with no labor law

Image
Imagine – Labor Day in the United States with no labor law. That’s what we’re facing unless we take action, Robert L.. The Senate must confirm Gina McCarthy to run the Environmental Protection Agency, Thomas Perez to run the Department of Labor, and all five of President Obama’s nominees to the National Labor Relations Board. If they do not, then 80 million workers will lose the protection of the law, and all of us run the risk of dirtier air and water — all thanks to Republican obstruction in the Senate. We can’t let that happen. Write to your Senators today to insist that they confirm the President’s nominees to the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Labor and National Labor Relations Board. Outdated Senate procedures have made it virtually impossible for the Senate to confirm President Obama's agency and judicial nominees. But Democrats hold the majority in t...

Michelle: When I reflect on the progress we’ve made

Image
Friend, it is absolutely critical we elect a Democratic Senate --  so today I’m asking you to support Democratic candidates across this country who share our values. When I reflect on the progress we’ve made these past eight years -- bringing healthcare to 20 million people, helping businesses create millions of new jobs, making college affordable for so many young people, and so much more -- I remember who made it all possible. It was grassroots Democrats like you who came together to move our country forward. And over the next five days, I’m counting on you to do it again. Friend, now more than ever before, we need your help to finish what we started in 2008. Will you join me and the DSCC to elect a Democratic Senate? The stakes are far too high, and we simply cannot sit on the sidelines when we’re facing such a clear choice for our children’s future. So please, Friend -- will you pitch in whatever you can to help the DSCC turn the Senate blue? Pitch in $1 IMMEDIATELY >>...

Chuck: strong leaders

Image
Robert, Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu voted with Democrats -- and sided with huge majorities of the country -- to block an effort that would have ended Medicare as we know it. So did Alaska Senator Mark Begich and Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor. And all three voted for the  Violence Against Women Act  and for comprehensive immigration reform, including a path to citizenship for millions who are currently forced to live in the shadows. These aren't just senators with a D after their names in states President Obama lost twice. These are real leaders who go against what the "experts" think if it means doing what's right and being true to their constituents -- and they're in three of the most hotly contested races of the entire election. It's up to us to help make sure they win their races, but each has an enormous test coming up: the first public financial reporting deadline of the year. Contribute $5 or more to Mary Landrieu, Mark Begich, and Ma...

Jill: The “Sopranos” state’s 2-party mafia

Image
Dear Friend, I’m just back from the Green Party Annual National Meeting in Newark, NJ, where I endorsed powerhouse Seth Kaper-Dale in his run for Governor.  As one of only two governor races this year, Seth's run in  2017’s biggest election  is a breakthrough moment for Greens everywhere.  The “Sopranos” state’s 2-party mafia is strong-arming Seth into raising $430,000 by August 31st in order to get in to the debates and to receive matching funds. That’s more than four times the $100,000 I had to raise to qualify for federal matching funds in my run for president! It's no wonder they're trying to keep Seth's formidable voice out of the debates. If this giant of social justice is heard, politics will never be the same - and not just in New Jersey. Here's the good news.  We have the power to break their debate blockade by supporting this transformative candidate now . If we can get Seth in to the debates, we Greens can win this high visibility rac...
