Over the course of this campaign, I have seen the promise of America in your courage and character, your energy and ingenuity, and your compassion and faith. 

Your spirit has inspired me every day in this race. While I traveled this country talking about how I wanted to help you -- time and again, you reached out to help me. To grab my hand or grip my arm, to look me in my eyes and tell me, don't quit, keep fighting, stay in this race for us. There were days when I had strength enough for the both of us -- and on the days I didn't, I leaned on you. 

This has always been your campaign, and tonight, there's no one I want to hear from more than you. I hope you're as proud as I am of what we've done and that you'll take a moment to share your thoughts with me now at my website. 

I want to congratulate Senator Obama and his supporters on the extraordinary race that they have run. Senator Obama has inspired so many Americans to care about politics and empowered so many more to get involved, and our party and our democracy are stronger and more vibrant as a result.

Whatever path I travel next, I promise I will keep faith with you and everyone I have met across this good and great country. There is no possible way to thank you enough for everything you have done throughout this primary season, and you will always be in my heart.

That if you work hard, do your part, then when you retire Medicare is there to have your back. Through the appointments, the check ups, the medications, and anything else you might need. Robert --  Another busy week of campaigning has passed, and we continue to move forward, meeting new people and attacting new volunteers to our efforts. Around the District On Tuesday night I was honored to be the guest of Bloomington Alderman Kevin Lower at a town hall meeting he hosted in Ward 1. Kevin’s dedication to speaking with and directly engaging his constituents is to be commended. On Saturday, we had a wonderful morning in Decatur at a local church and then participated in a family BBQ and forum hosted by the Macoupin County Republican Party. In every county organization across the district, we see energy and enthusiasm as we approach this critical election year. BREAKING NEWS: Senate Republicans are pushing the Blunt Amendment, a radical piece of legislation that would cannibalize health care reform by letting any employer deny any part of your heath care coverage due to “moral convictions.” Robert, this goes way beyond taking away birth control coverage. An employer could decide that they couldn’t shell out the money necessary for your expensive cancer treatment because of their "moral convictions," and you’d be out of luck. Robert --  Around the District The 13th Congressional District is home to many fine colleges and universities. During the course of the campaign, I have visited many of these institutions and had the opportunity to speak with students regarding political issues of concern to their generation. I recently participated in a town hall sponsored by the College Republicans at the University of Illinois-Springfield. The young people in attendance asked thoughtful questions and shared insightful observations regarding the state of the Republican Party. The College Republicans also offered to host a debate between all of the 13th District Republican candidates. I hope that such a debate will occur because it will provide college students with the information they need to make an informed choice in the March primary.
