My black history was not white enough for the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

 It's me the President of the Black Independent Party. Robert  Gilyard.  First black man to get a law degree from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith in 2007. The first class that graduated from the college.. I am black history in Fort Smith Arkansas. But the whites at the University of Arkansas is bringing their own form of black people to represent our city and they're supposed to be representations of black folks from our city. How can I respect my Alumni when I see the same issues that were there when I was a student. These black folks don't do nothing but go to a college. Then go home. They ignore us. Jon: Call on the Department of Defense, Congress, and Governors across the country

robert - I've spent a lot of time thinking over the past few days about the four Marines who lost their lives in a mass shooting at a Naval Reserve Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I've thought quite a bit about the fact those Marines weren't shot and killed in Iraq or Afghanistan, but lost their lives here at home on a military installation. This isn't new. We should have seen it coming after the attack in Little Rock and attempted attack on Fort Dix. And it's caused me to wonder what the Department of Defense and Congress can do to keep our men and women in uniform from falling victim to similar attacks in the future?
