If we take control of the Senate, we can block terrible right-wing judges and do serious investigations of the rampant corruption and possible collusion by the Trump team. But to take the Senate, we are going to have to win some tough races.
Join me in supporting my friend and fellow Democrat, Florida U.S. Senator Bill Nelson. Bill's facing one of the worst candidates Florida has ever put on the ballot (and that's saying something!).
We need Bill Nelson in the Senate. And what we most certainly do not need is his opponent, Rick Scott, a right-wing, Trump-loving opportunist.
Bill Nelson is a stalwart supporter of environmental protections, and clean air and water. Rick Scott is wrong on the environment. He backed oil drilling in the Everglades.
Bill Nelson voted in favor of the Affordable Care Act. Rick Scott is a vocal critic of President Obama's signature health care legislation that helps millions of Americans, especially in Florida.
Bill Nelson supports common-sense gun safety issues. Rick Scott is wishy-washy on guns in a state that knows all too well the horrors of gun violence.
Bill Nelson is right on the issues. His race is critical to retaking the Senate.

This contest in the Show Me State might be the dark-horse contest to watch. --  NPR , 5/2/2016 Friends, “Dark horse.” “Sleeping giant.” The press is running out of metaphors to describe how tight this race has become. Of course, there are more good ones. Like “photo finish”, as in how close this race could be come Election Day --  especially now that Donald Trump is at the top of the Republican ticket for president. Or “buried in mud,” as in what Super PACs and special interests hope to do to me before November. Or “work to the bone,”  which is what we’re going to do to hit our $55,000 goal -- and every other goal we have -- in order to keep fighting and win this thing. Dear friends,  When Michelle and I first began thinking about what the Obama Presidential Center could be, one thing was clear to us both: We didn't want to build only a monument to the past—we wanted to build a Center for the future. We hoped to create a place that would nurture and inspire the young people who walked its halls and played in its parks. A place that would invigorate the community that gave us so much. A place that could anchor Chicago as a destination for anyone who wanted to make a difference.  That's why what happened this week is such a big victory. After a thorough review, a judge dismissed a lawsuit against the City of Chicago that sought to prevent the construction of the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park. Bernie: super PACs and the billionaire class want to block that path

Robert - I want to talk about what we did  last night : after starting in the polls in Wisconsin down more than 40 points, we finished the election with a HUGE margin of victory. We're also going to come away with a strong majority of the delegates. We are on the path to the Democratic nomination for president. But I want to be clear:  super PACs and the billionaire class want to block that path in the New York primary. We very much expect an unbelievable amount of attacks and negativity over the  next two weeks .  But I also expect that if we all stand together, starting right now, we can come out of New York with another victory. My black history was not white enough for the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

 It's me the President of the Black Independent Party. Robert  Gilyard.  First black man to get a law degree from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith in 2007. The first class that graduated from the college.. I am black history in Fort Smith Arkansas. But the whites at the University of Arkansas is bringing their own form of black people to represent our city and they're supposed to be representations of black folks from our city. How can I respect my Alumni when I see the same issues that were there when I was a student. These black folks don't do nothing but go to a college. Then go home. They ignore us. But they are the white people's favorite. Now we have to listen another year and watch them applaud them people that don't give a fuk about us. Because that's how black folks are in this area.
