I'm excited to share conversations I had with Amy and our colleague Heidi Heitkamp about what got us off the sidelines and interested in pursuing public service. We also spoke about Amy's recent book and what issues a Senate full of women might tackle.

This contest in the Show Me State might be the dark-horse contest to watch. --  NPR , 5/2/2016 Friends, “Dark horse.” “Sleeping giant.” The press is running out of metaphors to describe how tight this race has become. Of course, there are more good ones. Like “photo finish”, as in how close this race could be come Election Day --  especially now that Donald Trump is at the top of the Republican ticket for president. Or “buried in mud,” as in what Super PACs and special interests hope to do to me before November. Or “work to the bone,”  which is what we’re going to do to hit our $55,000 goal -- and every other goal we have -- in order to keep fighting and win this thing. Barack: Obama Presidential Center is coming...

Dear friends,  When Michelle and I first began thinking about what the Obama Presidential Center could be, one thing was clear to us both: We didn't want to build only a monument to the past—we wanted to build a Center for the future. We hoped to create a place that would nurture and inspire the young people who walked its halls and played in its parks. A place that would invigorate the community that gave us so much. A place that could anchor Chicago as a destination for anyone who wanted to make a difference.  That's why what happened this week is such a big victory. Jeff: up the pressure in the Senate to combat climate change.

    I have exciting news, Robert: On Tuesday, President Obama announced a  permanent  ban on Arctic drilling, a groundbreaking move which will protect this pristine region and its sensitive ecosystems for decades to come. You did this, Robert : This announcement is the direct result of citizen advocacy like the petition you and I and thousands of others signed to protect the Arctic Ocean from gas and oil drilling.  Together, we stood up for our planet by calling for a ban on Arctic drilling – and our efforts have paid off. There’s no doubt Donald Trump will try to undo this ban – and while the law is clearly on our side,  we must remain vigilant and ready to block any attempt at reversing President Obama’s decision. Ben: my trip to Jordan

Robert,  On my trip to Jordan this weekend, I visited with Syrian refugees and saw first-hand the real human problems being worsened by the Obama-Clinton empty rhetoric policies. While our politicians fail to deal with the threat of Islamic extremism honestly and decisively, innocent people around the world are losing their lives and millions of people are being forced to flee their homes.
