There are many election forecasts out there, but they are all saying the same thing: the battle for the Senate is going to be incredibly close.
That means protecting our Democratic majority will come down to taking full advantage of every single opportunity that presents itself. Thankfully, in Kentucky and Georgia, we have two amazing pickup opportunities in the candidacies of Alison Lundergan Grimes and Michelle Nunn.
We would end the GOP’s dream of taking control of the Senate if we win these two seats.
I told Alison and Michelle that together we could raise $10,000 for them before the huge, public financial filing deadline at midnight on June 30. The pundits will be watching their numbers closely to see how they stack up with their opponents. Will you help make sure we come through for them and protect our majority?

Both of these seats are currently in Republican hands — and Democrats have a real shot at flipping both. Here’s why:
In Kentucky, Alison Lundergan Grimes has been giving Minority Leader McConnell the scare of his political career. A recent Republican poll showed her up 3 points, while others are showing that the race is within the margin of error. She is gaining new supporters in Kentucky every day and can win with our help — a victory that would send shockwaves throughout the country.
In Georgia, Michelle Nunn is leading either of her two potential Republican competitors in the polls. This is an open seat, and Democrats have every shot at winning it. Michelle’s campaign is mobilizing what one report describes as an “army of women volunteers” who will be ready to take on whichever far-right candidate emerges on the other side.
If Democrats can flip these two seats, it would put a huge dent in GOP hopes of taking over the Senate and turning it into an extremist playground. We need to raise $10,000 for Alison and Michelle by the public financial filing deadline on June 30 to make sure both of them have what they need to win their races. Robert, Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu voted with Democrats -- and sided with huge majorities of the country -- to block an effort that would have ended Medicare as we know it. So did Alaska Senator Mark Begich and Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor.
