  Black Independent  I want to take a moment to thank you. Through every challenge, every headline, and every attack thrown my way (of which there are many), you have stood unwaveringly with me. I never take your support and confidence for granted. And while the attacks on our work to uphold the values we share keep mounting, I’m motivated by your continued support and willingness to fight back alongside me.  For the sake of our democracy. Our Constitution. Our futures.  Donald Trump and his allies will continue to come after me, and anyone else who stands up to him. They hope that their persistent attacks will silence and intimidate others from holding his corrupt regime accountable. But I’m not backing down. I never have, and I never will. I’m so grateful for your support, but as these partisan attacks grow bolder, I need to know you have my back once more.   Hi Black Independent, Chicago Public Schools students headed back to the classroom this week, and with the start of the school year comes another year of the Futures Series! Additionally, through my seat on the House Appropriations Committee, I doubled the initial funding for screwworm eradication efforts in our nation’s agriculture budget. Sterile flies are the fastest, most effective method to eliminate the screwworm.
