Robert, I wanted you to be the first to see the letter below that Judge Brett Kavanaugh sent yesterday to the Senate Judiciary Committee. This historic vote, in the aftermath of revelations that the organization was selling the body parts of aborted babies, will save the lives of millions. Robert, Conservatives have a tough road ahead in 2016. We’re going up against the Big Government Labor Bosses, Hollywood liberals, and big-government cronies. While a lot of groups claim they help elect conservatives, none come close to the size, scope, and success of the Republican National Committee (RNC) –  the Official Committee in Charge of Taking Back the White House. Only the RNC has what it takes to fight the Obama-Clinton Machine head-on. But right now the RNC still has $40,000 to go to meet their November goal before the deadline TONIGHT at 11:59 p.m. On their behalf, I’m asking for your help, Robert. I know what we’re up against. Robert, I knew quite a bit about Kay before I joined the campaign. At least I thought I did. You and I both know she’s a fierce advocate for improving education, supporting our veterans, servicemembers and their families, and ensuring that all North Carolinians have access to health care. But as I just learned over dinner with Kay and Chip, she’s full of surprises. Here are a couple of them: Did you know that Kay used to be a ballet dancer, or that when she was an intern at the Capitol in the ‘70s, she operated an elevator that took senators to and from the chamber? Today, we gather across the country to thank our military personnel past and present. I’m grateful for my three older brothers, who all served. Too often, the day-to-day sacrifices of service members, veterans, and military families go unseen and unremarked. It’s time for meaningful action and policies that support our military and military families both during and after service — not just on Veterans Day, but every day. We can honor our veterans by ending these endless wars, reining in our bloated defense budget and reducing the influence of defense contractors at the Pentagon, and bringing our troops home responsibly — and then providing our veterans with the benefits they’ve earned. Borris: I continue the fight for criminal justice reform

Recidivism is the rate in which ex-offenders relapse into criminal activities.  The National Statistic on Recidivsm shows that within 3 years of release 67.8% of released prisoners were re-arrested, and within 5 years of release the rearrest rate rose to 76.7%.  In the state of Texas, our recidivism rate is 22.6%. Incarceration weakens communities and tears apart families.   Unfortunately, many ex-offenders who served their time and have proven that they are ready to begin a new life find it extremely difficult to find a job or access to education because of their past.  By providing education to prisoners it makes them 43% less likely to repeat criminal acts.  As a sponsor of  HB 553 ,  we now have a task force set in place  to better assess and determine  certification programs,  i ndustry recognizable credentials , and  school credits  to inmates.  By supporting me today, we can tackle issue...
