Wenonah: look back at all we've accomplished together in 2018.

Black,
There is a lot to celebrate as we look back at all we've accomplished together in 2018. Just take a look at the victories below — I'm so proud and thankful for what you've made possible.

Black,

Despite the odds, people like you across the country have chosen to fight back.

And the political shifts we’ve made possible together give me hope as we approach 2019.

Together in 2018 we...

1) Set the bar for progressive climate legislation
Securing 45 co-sponsors for the Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future Act, the strongest climate bill ever to be introduced in Congress, which requires 100% renewable energy by 2035 and 80% by 2027, in line with science.

This is especially critical as we welcome a new cohort of climate champions to Congress in 2019.

2) Blocked dirty fossil fuel infrastructure from coast to coast
Preventing power plants and pipelines in New York, New Jersey and California.

3) Doubled down against polluting factory farms
Stopping a 30,000 head factory farm in Lost Valley, OR, by pressuring the Department of Environmental Quality to revoke their permit.

4) Protected low-income residents from losing their homes and running water
Passing legislation in Maryland and California that keeps working class households from losing their homes due to unaffordable water bills.

5) Fought back against water privatization
Passing a ballot initiative in Baltimore, MD, making it the first major city to ban water privatization; stopping Nestlé in Spring Township, PA; preventing water privatization in Petersburg, VA and Chester, PA; continuing to fight privatization in Pittsburgh, PA; and passing a ballot measure in Monterey, CA putting them on the path to public control of their system.

6) Defeated a huge bad energy bill in California
Preventing California’s electricity system from being put on a regional grid, which would have given more control to the Trump administration and undermined California's 100% renewable energy efforts.

2018 was a year filled with people-powered victories that prove we can win even with corporate opponents that massively outspend us.

We know it’s possible to create a future where we all have food that we trust, clean water to drink and a climate where we can thrive.

But it will take all of us working together — for as long as it takes — to win.
