Dear Robert,
Real, lasting change in our communities happens when people get together online and in the streets to demand it. This is what makes USAction such a powerful force - we combine the power of you and thousands of other online supporters with our 19 state affiliates on the ground. These state groups work for progressive change at the local, state, and federal levels.
We have the opportunity to bring organizers from several states together next month for a hands-on learning experience about grassroots organizing and leadership development. Led by our affiliate in Virginia, this training will focus on best practices for developing and sustaining a strong progressive movement.
As a network we are able to share best practices and knowledge among our states. We do this regularly with emails, calls, and webinars. But with important elections right around the corner, we need to take it to the next level.
Some of our states need help with the cost of getting to Virginia. Can you chip in $15 for gas from Tennessee? $100 to help fund a plane ticket from Ohio?
The proceeds from this email will go directly towards travel costs for this training where we will build plans for long term sustainable growth in each state. Many of the affiliates who want to attend this training have small budgets for travel and need your help to make this happen.

EMILY’s List is supporting nine fantastic pro-choice women in senate races this year -- six in seats that we can flip, and three in seats we need to hold. We asked ourselves: What can we do to help them? Onward Together was formed as a way to support and connect the groups that are doing the work that absolutely needs to be done right now -- from mobilizing voters to encouraging and training new activists to recruiting people who are ready to run for office themselves. In 2017, we partnered with 11 organizations headed up by by smart, passionate leaders.
