Kirsten: Fair Elections Now Act!
We’ve seen the damage Citizens United has done to our democracy, Robert.
Every election year, negative ads flood the country – and the people who watch them look at Washington and see it’s more broken than ever before as dark money groups drown out the voices of everyday Americans.
Now, we have a chance to level the playing field: My friend Senator Durbin just introduced the Fair Elections Now Act, which would cap all small-donor donations to participating candidates at $150 and match them six times to ensure people-powered campaigns can compete with big donors.
Join me in supporting this important reform: Add your name to tell Congress to pass the Fair Elections Now Act!

I’ve found that when the door to transparency is opened, a lot of people will follow you through – and I believe that by passing this legislation, we can end the days of anonymous dark money donors and get back to voter-powered elections.
With the presidential election already underway, passing campaign finance reform and reversing the damage thatCitizens United has done to our democracy couldn’t be more important. We need change now, before special interests undermine another election.
The Fair Elections Now Act would counter the harmful effects of Citizens United and give everyday Americans a chance to make their voices heard. Will you stand with me and sign our petition calling on Congress to support finance reform?
Thank you for speaking out,
Kirsten
