Gabby: look at how far we’ve come

Emily's List

Robert,
For me, EMILY's List has always been like family. You were with me since I first ran for a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives. Every step of the way, EMILY's List has always asked: "What can we do to help?"

I've seen it time after time -- EMILY's List is there for Democratic women facing tough fights at every level of government. Will you join me and make sure women running for office -- from city council to President  -- get the support they need?
EMILY's List was there to help my good friend Kirsten Gillibrand become a Congresswoman and now Senator of New York. They supported another good friend of mine, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, as she rose to chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.
And, today, I am in Washington to help them recognize Georgia House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams with the Rising Star Award -- an honor given to a woman with a promising future of public service ahead of her -- at this year's We Are EMILY event.
That's why I'm proud to be part of this community -- EMILY's List is there from the very beginning and sticks with us when the going gets tough, not just when a victory is in the bag.
I know that monthly deadlines are important, but it's as crucial to take a step back to look at how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go. The unwavering drive to elect more Democratic women -- women like Stacey Abrams -- is really what makes a difference at the margins.
And if we're going to elect more pro-choice Democratic women, we need to make sure they have the resources they need to win.
Thanks for standing with me, and thanks for standing with the EMILY's List family.
