robert, Juan Isaac Zapata Ruiz, a taxi driver in Peru, was nearly blind from cataracts when he walked into a Clinton Foundation-supported clinic last year. Back at work with his newly restored vision, Juan has increased his income by 60 percent and is now able to support his family -- and can even start saving. Agnes Spinala, the mother of a critically handicapped son in Malawi, needed to raise money to pay school fees for her son. She found work at the Clinton Foundation's Anchor Farm Project, and with her new income she's bought a reliable roof for her house and sent her son to school. These are just two of the millions of lives that have been dramatically and forever changed thanks to the more than 100,000 generous individuals who support our work -- people just like you. Find their stories here >> President Clinton had a vision when he left office in 2001: to establish a foundation dedicated to implementing sustainable long-term solutions to some of the world's biggest challenges. By fostering partnerships with governments, businesses, nongovernmental organizations, and individuals, the Clinton Foundation has been able to build lasting systems that have changed millions of lives for the better. In 2010 alone, we expanded more programs, welcomed more donors, worked with more partners, and touched more lives than ever before. The numbers speak for themselves: More than 17,000 cataract surgeries have been provided in underserved communities in Peru; More than 12,000 U.S. schools have created healthier learning environments; 4,300 smallholder farmers have built sustainable agroforestry businesses that enable them to support their families and reverse deforestation; $28 million worth of assistance was provided by the Foundation to support relief efforts in Haiti and to help Haitians build back better and stronger; And much more.
