Republicans in Congress have already introduced several bills to limit a woman's ability to make her own health decisions -- all in the first 48 hours of the new session.

Blatantly ignoring a clear message from voters in the 2012 elections, they hope to:

    -- Block Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funds for family planning
    -- Ban all abortions even in case of rape and incest, and possibly go as far as banning some forms of birth control and in vitro fertilization
    -- Repeal Obamacare

Here's where you come in.

As a woman, cancer survivor, and mother -- and as a Democrat who has fought tooth and nail on these issues -- I'm absolutely incensed over these latest attacks on women's health. And I'm not going to sit back and watch while Republicans try to take away our rights. 

We can stop these assaults on the health and lives of millions of women in this country by doing everything in our power to keep them from gaining support. But it won't work unless you step up alongside others who believe in a woman's right to control her own body.

It's easy to think that once we re-elected the President, our work was done. Friend -- I'm the national training director at Obama for America. My job is to develop the programs and resources our staff and volunteers use to teach others how to grow this campaign in their communities. I'm writing because you or someone you know might want to be among a group of people who will play the leading role in our grassroots strategy this fall. They're called our fall fellows. By now you've probably heard of our summer organizers program, through which more than 1,500 full-time volunteer organizers have stepped up as the next generation of leaders in this movement. These folks have been the focus and the heart of our movement all summer, and though each and every one of them will remain a part of this organization, their time as Summer Organizers ends next month. The job of fall fellows is to pick their work up and carry it forward into the months to come. Our fall fellows are going to engage new volunteers on front porches and over the phones.
