Kathleen McGrory and Neil Bedi at the Tampa Bay Times won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize in Local Reporting for their in-depth investigation of Pasco County, Florida’s “predictive policing” program, in which police create a list of people they think likely to commit crimes and then relentlessly harass them and their families. Following the Times’ reporting, IJ’s attorneys hit the ground and filed a class action lawsuit challenging the program on behalf of three families profiled by McGrory and Bedi.
