Chuy: we need to continue working at the county level

Dear Friend,

Now more than ever we need to continue working at the county level to ensure that local, state and federal policies do not have an adverse impact on residents of the 7thdistrict and our neighbors. At the local level, assessments have skyrocketed in Little Village and North Lawndale and Assessor Berrios needs to be held accountable. At the state level, Governor Rauner has refused to put together a budget to fully fund our neighborhood schools. At the federal level, President Trump has threatened immigrants by holding back critical resources to cities.

In the 7 years that I have been County Commissioner, I am proud of the record that President Preckwinkle and I have established by turning the county around and making it a best practices model for counties all over the country. And with your help we’ve been able to reduce the jail population, maintain our level of health care services for minorities and all and protect the constitutional rights of immigrants.

That’s why your help is crucial in my re-election so we can finish the job. Make a donation today.

As County Commissioner, my life’s work has centered on fighting for social justice and working people. Over the next few weeks, I will need your help. I plan to continue this advocacy on your behalf and that’s why I need your contribution.

With gratitude,

Jesús “Chuy” García
Commissioner, 7th District
