We have all sat around the kitchen table sorting out our tax returns. Don’t we deserve to know that our leaders are paying their fair share, the way working families across the country do every single year?
President-elect Trump is stacking his cabinet with elite bankers and billionaires. Before they’re confirmed, we need to make sure they’re really working for American families, not stashing money overseas or abusing tax loopholes.

Russ: women across the country -- don't deserve unnecessary attacks

Robert -- This is indefensible. This week, Governor Scott Walker signed two bills that would take millions of dollars in funding from Planned Parenthood. These bills are a clear attack on a woman's right to affordable, quality health care. Governor Walker and Senator Ron Johnson threaten the lives of women every time they take steps to defund Planned Parenthood. In fact, Senator Johnson last year supported a 20-week abortion ban and voted again to defund Planned Parenthood. These attacks on women's health are wrong. But they're not going to stop until Republicans like Senator Johnson and Governor Walker are out of office. Millions of transgender people still face discrimination

    Friend, did you see the news? One of my first actions as a Congresswoman was to display a transgender pride flag outside my office. I did so to show the trans community -- which includes friends and family of mine -- that they are seen, heard, and not erased. Today, we must recommit our efforts toward protecting the rights of transgender Americans. Dangerous misinformation has been amplified by right-wing politicians and media figures, resulting in a disturbing series of state legislative actions across the country that target the healthcare and well-being of trans youth. Last month, I was named a co-chair of the Transgender Equality Task Force, an arm of the Congressional LGTBQ+ Equality Caucus that is advocating for legislative and administrative action to ensure that the trans community is treated with dignity and respect. Momnibus Act would take important measures to protect Black pregnant parent’s lives.

  Robert, The United States has the worst mortality rate in the modern world, and Black women are three to four times more likely than white women to die from pregnancy. This Black History Month, I am again reminded of how racism and sexism have continued to dominate the healthcare system. Mark Pryor, Mark Udall and Mark Begich are all polling within single digits – and if they lose their re-election fights, our majority is gone. Pryor barely leads Rep. Tom Cotton, a Tea Party darling backed by right-wing groups like the Club for Growth who’ve already spent $1.8 million smearing Mark. Udall polls just three points ahead of extremist Ken Buck.
