Ruben: I'm standing

VoteVets.org

Robert -

I deployed to Iraq as a United States Marine in 2005. I cleared houses, fought insurgents, and lost friends.

Not too long after I returned, I signed up to serve as VoteVets' Arizona State Captain.

When i decided to run for State Representative, VoteVets was there for me. And that support continued through my recent election to the U.S. House of Representatives.

My story is not entirely unique: VoteVets has helped elect dozens of veteran leaders at all levels of government. And this year, they face their biggest challenge yet: electing Tammy Duckworth and Jason Kander to the U.S. Senate.

I'm standing with VoteVets in that effort, and I hope you'll join me. Make a $5 contribution to VoteVets today.

What's more, even after the final vote was counted last November, we've continued to work together on issues like debt-free college and keeping our communities safer from gun violence.

When it comes to electing and organizing veterans to advance progressive change -- there's no organization more important than VoteVets.

That's why I'm proud to make a contribution today, and I hope you'll join me.
