Black Independent Party --

My co-founder Ross Morales Rocketto and I launched Run for Something in January 2017 to take back the thousands of seats that Republicans have collected over the last few decades -- and to give young women, people of color, LGBT people, veterans, people with disabilities, and anyone who has been underrepresented in politics the support they needed to launch their very own campaign.

Here’s what I’ve been proudly telling people since then: What we’ve done in less than two years would not have been possible without the support of Hillary Clinton and Onward Together. Their checks have kept us afloat as we expanded from two people sitting on our couches with our dogs to a team of more than 12 staffers and a program that’s recruited more than 28,000 could-be candidates. And the mentorship from the Onward Together team has steered us through more than a few tricky situations.

Here’s my hard ask: Can you make a donation of $25 to Onward Together’s end of year fundraising campaign? Your contribution supports more than ten other current Onward Together partners and makes it possible for Onward to find more groups like ours who are doing good work and just need a little help.

And thank you for being a part of Onward Together, on behalf of 28,000 young progressives who might not otherwise have been given a shot.

Run for Something

A note from Hillary:

Run for Something was one of the first groups that Onward Together supported following our launch last year -- not only because co-founders Ross and Amanda were both involved in my 2016 campaign, but because their organization embodies the very mission of Onward Together: to shine a light on the incredible work being done right now to make our country a better place.

In 2017, Ross and Amanda asked a simple, yet critical question: What if more progressive young people from diverse backgrounds had the chance to run for office?

The results have been astonishing: In less than two years, Run for Something has recruited 28,000 young diverse progressives who want to run for office, and elected more than 200 of them to local office in 40 states. While first-time candidates usually win at a rate of 10%, nearly half of all Run for Something candidates have won.

I’m so proud that Onward Together has been able to work with Run for Something in their first two years, and I’m looking forward to many more years of watching them change the face of politics for the better.

Onward!

Hillary
