Mark Pryor: This is a promise we need to keep.
America was built on a promise that with honest, hard work comes a chance to earn a decent living and support our families.
This is a promise we need to keep.
That’s why I’m supporting the ballot initiative to raise Arkansas’ minimum wage to $8.50 an hour. It has been more than seven years since the state minimum wage was raised – years that included the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, even as the cost of living continued to climb.
Raising the minimum wage is simply the right thing to do. I’m proud to be working with Give Arkansas a Raise Now, the interfaith alliance spearheading this effort, but we need you with us.
Will you add your voice to ours and sign the petition supporting this critical issue?
No Arkansan should be forced to choose between feeding their family or filling up their car to get to work. But these are decisions being made every day by families across our state.
It’s just not acceptable that our state is one of five with a minimum wage set well below the federal level, even as tens of thousands of hardworking Arkansas families struggle to get by.
Republicans and Democrats alike agree with me, it's time to fix this by raising Arkansas' minimum wage now. Add your name today and stand with us!
There's no doubt that Arkansans work hard to provide for their families, so let’s reinforce that hard work by raising the minimum wage.
Thank you for standing with me,
Mark
