Just when you think Republican priorities can’t possibly get any worse, they do. The latest: Republicans are demanding that we shift even more money to the wealthiest elite through huge tax cuts. They are unwilling to protect Medicare. This shows once and for all whose side they’re on – and it’s certainly not the middle class.

We need a strong show of opposition to their despicable priorities – 100,000 Democrats standing for Medicare and our nation’s middle class. Will you sign our petition, then pass it on to family and friends through Facebook and Twitter?

Republicans need to know that we will NOT stand by as they destroy Medicare and the middle class while coddling huge corporations and billionaires. The GOP End Medicare Plan must be off the table. Add your voice.

Back at work with his newly restored vision, Juan has increased his income by 60 percent and is now able to support his family -- and can even start saving. Agnes Spinala, the mother of a critically handicapped son in Malawi, needed to raise money to pay school fees for her son. Friend -- I wanted to make sure you saw the news: Today President Obama announced a common-sense policy change that will make our immigration system fairer and smarter. I'm proud to support it, and I hope you are, too. Under the administration's guidance, immigration courts are going to focus on deporting people who have been convicted of crimes or who pose a security risk. This means that the courts will focus less on "low-priority" cases -- like young people who were brought here as small children and know no other home, or veterans and military spouses. So the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice will be reviewing the current deportation caseload, clearing out low-priority cases, and making sure they don't get into the system in the first place -- keeping the focus on cases that will make our country safer. It's a smart, strategic change. And it will make a difference. But more comprehensive change requires Congress to act.

What is 4th of July to Fort Smith Arkansas. When we still have Confederate monuments downtown. Where they have annual bike rallies in which they sell Confederate flags. When Confederates put flags on their trucks and intimidate our children up and down our streets. When Confederate flags wave through the neighborhoods of our children that are walking home from school. Where their dogs are barking at our children to harrass and terrorized them until  they cannot move and we as adults have to stand and tell them that everything is okay. What is 4th of July to Fort Smith Arkansas. When we have a black mayor who does nothing for his own race and will celebrate America's Independence and ignore his own Freedom day that Juneteenth represents. The same mayor that used the platform of integration and segregation as a reason to be elected. And that same segregation and integration that is represented in Juneteenth was avoided. This Friday is the final deadline for congressional Republicans to stop disastrous automatic spending cuts (known as the "sequester") that will hurt everyday Americans -- including you. These budget cuts will take a sledgehammer to the budget, and indiscriminately cut critical programs vital to economic growth and middle class families. If Congress fails to act, we'd see budget cuts pretty much across the board to critical services that teachers, first responders, seniors, children, and our men and women in uniform rely on every day.
