Photos: First Lady delivers lunch to first responders


First Lady Melania Trump, in an unannounced visit last week, dropped by Engine Company 9 fire station in Washington, D.C., to deliver lunch for first responders.

“Your work is essential to keeping our citizens & youth safe, & proof that we must work together to build stronger connections between first responders & communities,” the First Lady tweeted.

Along with lunch, the First Lady also dropped off tote bags, reusable face masks, and hand sanitizer. She talked with firefighters, Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel, and police officers from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District.

“The President and I will continue to support our dedicated firefighters, police members, EMS personnel and other critical first responders who put their lives at risk each day in order to keep our neighborhoods safe," the First Lady said.

“We are grateful for their teamwork, professionalism and courage, and the vital role they play in communities throughout the country.”

President Trump briefs Americans from Oval Office


President Trump joined Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy in the Oval Office this morning to brief Americans about additional Coronavirus relief and progress toward a vaccine.

The focus is “really about kids and jobs and vaccines,” Secretary Mnuchin said. “We’re going to make sure that we have a vaccine by the end of the year for emergency use.”

Vice President Pence reiterated that the best way to help Americans is to make sure that schools and businesses can safely reopen soon.

“We’ll make sure our healthcare workers and our states have the resources that they need. But also, Mr. President, we’re going to continue to advance policies that’ll make it possible for us to open up America again and open up America’s schools.”

The historic, nationwide ramp-up to fight Coronavirus—which includes the largest mobilization of U.S. industry since World War II—is making America a global leader in addressing the pandemic. Thanks to President Trump’s efforts to accelerate ventilator production, for example, the United States now has a surplus of these crucial machines.

“We’re helping the world with ventilators. We’re helping a lot of countries,” the President said.

When Confederates put flags on their trucks and intimidate our children up and down our streets. When Confederate flags wave through the neighborhoods of our children that are walking home from school. Where their dogs are barking at our children to harrass and terrorized them until  they cannot move and we as adults have to stand and tell them that everything is okay. Donald Trump keeps putting himself first and America last. Even as cases of COVID-19 skyrocket in states across the country, this president continues to host in-person fundraisers to pad his reelection war chest and fund dishonest ads -- including planning to return back to Florida, which is currently battling a sharp increase in cases -- at the end of the month. It’s irresponsible and reckless that Trump is ignoring public health experts and carrying on with his in-person fundraising events, but it's clear there's no level he won't sink to in an attempt to stop Democrats from chipping away at the RNC's cash-on-hand advantage.
