They couldn’t get the votes to repeal it outright. But they’ve chipped away at it, sabotaged it from inside the Trump administration, given giant health insurance companies more wiggle room to leave tricks and traps for people in the fine print, and denied their own constituents live-saving health coverage by refusing to expand Medicaid. Today, Republicans are still trying to strangle the Affordable Care Act in lawsuits and roll back health coverage for tens of millions of Americans. But Democrats are ready to fight back even harder.
