How? Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, and other Republicans are proposing raising the retirement age. These vicious cuts to Social Security hit middle class folks the hardest.
As the next United States Senator from Florida, I’ll fight to preserve and protect Social Security. You have my word.

The Tea Party has manufactured a crisis in Social Security so they can push through radical reforms that a strong majority of Americans, both Democrats and Republicans, oppose.
I want to ensure our kids and grandkids will have Social Security when they need it. And I would do that by adjusting the payroll cap to make sure everyone pays their fair share, not by raising the retirement age and cutting benefits.

Al: Between 1977 and 1980, members of the U.S Armed Forces were exposed to nuclear waste.

robert, Between 1977 and 1980, thousands of members of the U.S Armed Forces were given a duty: Help clean up nuclear test sites in the Marshall Islands. Dressed in t-shirts, shorts, and boots (aka, without protective gear), those service members did their job. Now, about 40 years later, many of those brave men and women face serious health problems. Cancer rates among these veterans is around 35 percent.  And for some reason, they cannot get the compensation they have earned. Congress needs to step up.  Veterans who become ill because they did their duty to this nation should have access to the quality health care they need. They’ve earned it. Why I filibustered for gun violence prevention Friend --  I was the Congressman from Newtown, Connecticut when tragedy struck Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th, 2012. As long as I live, I’ll never forget the scene at the firehouse when twenty-six families were told they would not be reunited with their children and loved ones.  For years, Congress has failed those families and the victims of gun violence all across the country.  That is why yesterday, starting at 11:21 a.m., I decided to stand on the Senate floor and talk for as long as I could about the need to prevent gun violence.
