Sherrod Brown: Deja vu

Deja vu: something overly or unpleasantly familiar
-- Merriam-Webster Dictionary
Dear Robert,

When I got a look at the new Ryan budget plan the House released, I got the strangest feeling of deja vu -- this again?

Ending Medicare as we know it. New tax breaks for millionaires and corporations. Skyrocketing healthcare costs for our seniors. Sound familiar? It should -- the House has tried to pass an almost identical plan twice before.

Just like last time, this plan would have a devastating effect on our seniors. And just like last time, I need your help to push against it.

We will not let anyone end Medicare as we know it, and threaten the financial stability of our seniors. Join me in telling House Republicans: Stop attacking seniors, start finding solutions.
In 2012, the American people spoke with a decisive voice -- Medicare needs to be strengthened, not dismantled.

Instead of working toward common ground, the extreme Republicans in the House have gone right back to the beginning, trying to force a non-starter budget down the throats of the American people.

Budgets are about priorities -- and the House has its priorities upside down. Our seniors, our middle class families, our hard working men and women come first -- not millionaires and corporate interests.

We need to make this message louder than ever before. Tell House partisans: Stop. Stop attacking Medicare. Stop threatening the security of our seniors. Stop protecting corporate interests. Add your name today.

This budget is just too dangerous for our seniors -- and it's up to us to stop it. Again.

Thank you for sticking with me.
