Great news! Our efforts supporting Betsy DeVos were successful. The Senate voted this afternoon to confirm her as Secretary of Education.

Secretary DeVos will support equal opportunity in education for children across the United States. Our videos highlighted her dedication to giving families educational choices for their students.

Robert – In less than three months, the Supreme Court will hear a case that could undermine  Roe v. Wade  and set women’s health back decades. If the Court rules the wrong way, it could force the only clinic in west Texas to close and open the floodgates for even more extreme anti-abortion regulations designed to keep women from accessing a legal medical procedure. Republicans have been chipping away at a woman’s constitutional right to make her own health care decisions for YEARS, but this case is the biggest threat to the right to choose we’ve ever faced.  We need to speak out together  now , before the Supreme Court guts abortion rights. My black history was not white enough for the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

 It's me the President of the Black Independent Party. Robert  Gilyard.  First black man to get a law degree from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith in 2007. The first class that graduated from the college.. I am black history in Fort Smith Arkansas. But the whites at the University of Arkansas is bringing their own form of black people to represent our city and they're supposed to be representations of black folks from our city. Friends, When it comes to taking a position on any bill, Floridians know my promise: I will listen to them, I will listen to my conscience, and I will deeply study what’s on my desk before making a decision. The past few weeks, the proposal on my desk has been the nuclear deal with Iran. I have to say, this has been the toughest decision of my career in Congress. After listening to arguments on both sides, carefully reviewing all the materials, and soliciting answers from both supporters and opponents, I have reached a decision. A nuclear Iran would be an unacceptable threat to America and Israel. As a nation, we must always keep all options on the table. You and I both know she’s a fierce advocate for improving education, supporting our veterans, servicemembers and their families, and ensuring that all North Carolinians have access to health care. Too often, the day-to-day sacrifices of service members, veterans, and military families go unseen and unremarked. It’s time for meaningful action and policies that support our military and military families both during and after service — not just on Veterans Day, but every day.
