Jennifer Petty: Save the Michigan Unions

Dear robert l., 

They really are already at it again. Led by Republicans, on Tuesday, Michigan’s state legislature enacted far-reaching legislation that could cripple hardworking Americans who belong to labor unions. 

That’s right, in Michigan, a state that was the center of the union movement.

And Republican Governor Rick Snyder has already signed the legislation. 


This “right to work” effort is what the Republican Party is all about. And like we did in Wisconsin last year, we have to get people on the ground in Michigan, so we can fight back for working Americans.

But we need your year-end support, so please donate today. 


This effort was led by Americans for Prosperity, which is funded by the billionaire Koch brothers – who want to crush middle-class Americans everywhere they can. 

So please, please be as generous as you can today, so we can fight back. You know they won’t stop in Michigan. They will try to roll this out in every state they can. We must be ready to fight back.

Friend -- February was the best month ever for our campaign—we received donations from 34,025 different people for a total of $570,954.82!  The average donation was $16.78.  That’s incredible.  THANK YOU for making it happen.  We raised as much as many other major candidates for the month.   Aside from the raw numbers, which are staggering, here’s another reason I am excited.  I received this message hundreds of times via social media:  “You are the first political candidate I have ever donated to.”   This message is important.  It’s become a constant drumbeat.  And it means that we are poised to do great things. Robert, Hillary Clinton gave an economic speech on Monday—where she basically promised to change little, help no one, and fix nothing if she becomes President of the United States. Instead, Hillary wants to offer you and me more of the same: more of the same lousy liberal "solutions" that have been failing the American people for the past 8 years. Hey there -- I promise I’m not doing my math wrong. Campaigns usually focus on one election day -- November 2016. Here in Florida, we’ve got two to worry about. Patrick has a competitive primary here in Florida.  Which means we’ve got two big election days to look forward to. And the first, Primary Day, is August 30, 2016. The end of this month is our year-out mark.  And we want to get $25,000 into our Year Out Fund before then.  Can you make a contribution today to get us closer? Louis DeJoy OUT as Postmaster General.

  The Board of Governors of USPS is meeting this Friday. They have a chance to vote Louis DeJoy OUT as Postmaster General. This is our opportunity: Sign our petition calling for Louis DeJoy to be immediately fired and replaced as Postmaster General. Louis DeJoy openly sabotaged the US Postal Service to help Traitor Trump try to steal the 2020 election and subvert our democracy -- which so many people have fought for and laid down their lives to defend. AND he is currently under FBI investigation for campaign finance violations as well. DeJoy’s actions slowed down delivery speeds, delaying life-saving prescriptions that many troops, veterans and everyday Americans depend on. Jon: Let it go to waste

robert - President Obama is right: many of the same voices urging the United States to reject the deal with Iran in favor of a military approach were some of the loudest voices in favor of war with Iraq. Congress is home for recess now, and we need to make sure they hear your voice before returning to D.C. to take a vote. So far over 100,000 veterans, military family members, and VoteVets supporters have taken action on this issue - add your name to theirs today:  Tell Congress: vote for the negotiated deal that is our best chance to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon The vote can go either way at this point so every Representative and every Senator that comes out in favor of the deal is a major victory. Patrick: Womens March in Vermont

Robert, This morning, Marcelle and I were proud to see how many Vermonters travelled all the way to Washington to participate in the Women’s March on Washington. And we were so pleased to see so many gather for a similar march in Montpelier this afternoon. It was an honor to join together with many thousands of women and men gathered to proclaim loudly that women’s rights are human rights -- and to make a strong statement a day after the inauguration of Donald Trump. By coming together today, Americans of all gender identities, races, faiths, sexual orientations, and immigration statuses sent a powerful message that we will continue fighting for women's rights, to protect our communities, and for progress on the issues that matter.
