Dear Friend, It’s been another busy week here in Texas, and, today I am heading to Washington to vote on vital funding for the U.S. Postal Service. Before heading into the weekend, I wanted to share some of the things I’ve been working on for you this week: Bridging the Digital Divide
This month, the San Antonio Housing Authority is observing Education Celebration Month. On Tuesday, I joined the Housing Authority and Goodwill San Antonio in distributing HP refurbished computers to local San Antonio students. For many of the recipients, this is the first computer in their home. The Housing Authority is working to ensure San Antonio students of all backgrounds have the same opportunity to have a successful school year, and I’m glad to join them in this effort. 
Another American Century
The 21st century can be another American century, but only if our nation focuses on a strategic foreign policy to meet the geopolitical threats we face head-on. This week I wrote a column that was published in the Dallas Morning News detailing policy actions future lawmakers should take to ensure American leadership on the world stage is maintained. A Technology Arms Race with China
We are in a technology arms race with China, and one of the main areas is artificial intelligence. AI will change society and the way we live, which is why we can’t let an authoritarian government, like the Chinese Communist Party, be the ones who set the tone and standards for this emerging technology’s future.
